Amy Shade

Amy is a Certified Dementia Practitioner, Certified Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Care Trainer and Certified Dementia Support Group Facilitator through the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners. She is passionate about educating staff and families to equip them to provide the best quality of life for those affected by dementia.

Amy has previously taught at Wright State University, and has consulted on coursework as well as guest lectured at Cedarville University.
Amy is also a Certified Activity Director, through the National Certification Council for Activity Professionals, and has spent 25+ years of her career providing creative programming and behavioral interventions for older adults. She has worked in skilled facilities (nursing homes), an adult day care program, and assisted living / memory care.
Additionally, Amy is a Dementia Friends Champion, trained to present Dementia Friends programs to any group who would like to learn how to best serve those with dementia in their church, club, or business.
Amy graduated from Bowling Green State University with a BS in Art Therapy and a minor in Gerontology.
